Canine Good Citizen (CGC)

This class is designed for dogs ages 6 months and older that have graduated from a beginner or intermediate group course at PHS/SPCA or another training facility.

To receive their Canine Good Citizen (CGC) certification dogs must pass the 10 tests items outlined by the American Kennel Club (AKC) which will demonstrate their consistent good manners. Participants should already have the following skills; a reliable stay, recall, walk on a loose leash and tolerate body handling and grooming. This class will focus on mastering skills required for the test, such as calmly greeting friendly strangers, walking through a crowd, and behaving politely around other dogs. Dogs who pass the CGC test will receive their certification from the AKC. Proof of current DHPP and Rabies vaccination is required.

Frequency and Duration: This is a 1 hour per week class held for 6 weeks. The test is given in week 6.

Location: Tom and Annette Lantos Center for Compassion, located at 1450 Rollins Rd in Burlingame.
