This class is designed to prepare you to take the CGC Test. It is open to all dogs at least 6 months and older (preferred is at least 1 years old) that have graduated from an intermediate group course at PHS/SPCA or another training facility.
To receive their Canine Good Citizen (CGC) certification dogs must pass the 10 tests items outlined by the American Kennel Club (AKC) which will demonstrate their consistent good manners. Participants should already have the following skills; a reliable stay, recall, walk on a loose leash and tolerate body handling and grooming. This class will practice these skills which are required for the test; calmly greeting friendly strangers, walking through a crowd, and behaving politely around other dogs. Dogs who pass the CGC test will receive their certification from the AKC. Proof of current DHPP and Rabies vaccination is required.
Frequency and Duration: This is a 1 hour per week class held for 6 weeks. The test is given in week 6.
